In preparation for Gynapedia, the free online gynocentric encyclopedia project, forthcoming to the public on Equinox March 20, 2017, Mago Academy seeks volunteers in the categories of Authors, Patrollers and Advisors. What is Gynapedia? Gynapedia is a gift-sharing project supported by The Mago Work, which includes Mago Pool Circle[1], Return to Mago E-Magazine[2], Mago Academy[3], and Mago Books[4]. Administered by Gynapedia Administration Circle, Gynapedia is a collective endeavor to serve the general public as well as feminists, activists, and Godessians, broadly defined. In addition to be a compendium of comprehensive topics, Gynapedia intends to promote network and collaboration among her users across cultures and geographies. This is an English version of Gynapedia.
First Year Plan (tentatively, March 20, 2017-March 19, 2018)
Stage I: Authors can create and edit pages.
Stage II: Authors can create and edit pages. Users can edit pages.
Stage III: Contributors can create and edit pages. All Users (including anonymous) can edit pages.
Volunteers are needed for the following three user groups:
1. Authors: Those who will create and edit pages for one’s own topics and/or topics by others.
Necessary Qualifications:
- Skilled or capable of self-training in creating and editing pages in Wikipedia.
- Researched, published, or taught topics on feminism, activism, and Goddess Spirituality.
- Familiar with the general landscape of scholarship, research, movement, and creative projects on feminism, activism, and Goddess Spirituality.
2. Patrollers: Those who will monitor previously created pages, report problems, and edit pages on a regular basis.
Necessary Qualifications:
- Skilled in Worepress.
- Familiar with the general landscape of scholarship, research, movement, and creative projects on feminism, activism, and Goddess Spirituality.
3. Advisors: Those who will suggest pages topics, edit pages, and/or create pages.
Necessary Qualifications:
- Capable of self-training in creating and editing posts.
- Researched, published, or taught topics on feminism, activism, and Goddess Spirituality.
- Founded, organized, or created organizations, journals, and/or websites on the broadly defined theme of feminism, activism, and Goddess Spirituality.
What You Will Do
All Gynapedia volunteers are required to register the Gynapedia website. Administrators will assign you to the corresponding user groups.
Communications will take place via email and/or Facebook’s group, The Mago Circle.
Authors: Create and edit pages, your own and/or by others.
Patrollers: Check newly created pages and inspect spam or bot posts.
Advisors: Suggest page topics, create your own pages, and edit pages, your own and by others.
Your application will be reviewed and you will be notified upon selection. We will ask you to provide your short bio and self-portrait image. Your volunteer’s post will be published Mago Pool Circle (http://www.magopoolcircle.net) and Mago Academy (http://magoacademy.org) websites.
